What is API[]
The Academic Performance Index (API) is a measurement of academic performance and progress of individual schools in Shushtrepistaz. Similar to the one in Caliifornia API is closely tied to monetary and incentive awards by setting Annual Percent Growth Targets for each school and whether the school met or exceeded this goal API scores ranges from a low of 200 to a high of 1000.

Numeric Index[]
A numeric API score ranges from a low of 200 to a high of 1000. Thestanderd API performance target for all schools is 800. A school's growth is measured by how well it is moving toward or past that goal.
An API score is calculated for all students in a school as well as numerous API scores for each subgroup at the school (such as by race, English Learner Status, students with disabilities, and socieconomically disadvantaged pupils).
Rankings[]
The API Nationwide Rank score ranks a school with all schools inshushtrepistaz based on API score, while the API Similar Schools score ranks a school with other schools in the Nation with similar demographic profiles (including parent education level, poverty level, student mobility, student ethnicity).
Each rank ranges from 1 to 10, with a score of 10 meaning that the school's API fell into the top 10%.
Indicator of Performance[]
A school's score or placement on the API is designed to be an indicator of a school's performance level and is calculated annually by the Shushtrepistaz Department of Education, primarily based on SPAT and SPAT2 tests.
Due of the API's heavy reliance on standardized testing (although some factors such as attendance and graduation rates are considered), many criticisms of standardized testing can also be leveled at the reliability and accuracy of API scores as an indicator of a school's level of "academic achievement."

Individual scores are sent to families at the end of the year with 3rd or 4th term or 2nd semester report cars and can be converted like this

GPA format[]
Classical five-point discrete evaluation with grades is the system most commonly used in the Shushtrepistaz, but there are many variations. There are also a few schools that eschew discrete evaluation (letter grading) in favor of pure discursive evaluation. There is no standardized system of grading in the United States, as these issues are left up to individual universities, schools, and states.
Grades in the Shushtrepistaz are generally assigned by a letter: A (highest grade, excellent), B (above average), C (average), D (usually the minimum passing grade), F (fail), and sometimes R (Redo Grade/Summer School). Additionally, most schools will calculate a student's grade point average (GPA) by assigning each letter grade a number and using a mathematical formula to come up with a numerical representation of a student's work. Generally, Shushtrepistaz schools equate an A with a numerical value of 4.0.
The percentage needed in any given coursework to achieve a certain grade and the assignment of GPA point values varies from one school to another. The most common grading scales for normal courses and honors/advanced placement courses are as follows:

Whether the failing grade is F or E typically depends on time and geography. Some counties, but not many, have tended to favor E since World War II while the majority of the country tends to use F. Another letter used to represent a failing grade is U, representing "unsatisfactory." Ultimately, the grade F traces to the days of two-point grading as Pass (P) and Fail (F). In recent years some schools have begun using an N for failing grades, presumably to represent "No Credit". In larger or final papers if a large amount of these F's a report card may have an R which will make you repeat a grade if that serious of Repeat a Class in summer or next year
Another way a student will recieve a R is if he has been caught cheating, or doing other unexceptable acts
